What You Should Know...
A Community Feel
The number 1 bonus from taking lessons in an academy rather than a home studio is the change to be part of a community. When a student sees other people just like them (and sometimes not so much like them) coming in and out of lessons, they see that they aren’t alone in their experience. This, combined with our social media presence and other Academy activities, your time here becomes more than just music lessons - but becoming a part of a group of musicians in Southern Alberta.
Our Recitals are low stress and lots of fun! They take place every Spring and Winter, with an awesome red carpet photo-op, and a great memory to be made! Learning to play an instrument should be fun, but it should also have a purpose! When you're learning with a goal in mind, progress accelerates, and the joy of performing makes all of those long hours of practice worth it.
With song selection ranging from complex classical music, to simple nursery rhymes, there's a spot in our program for you.
Recitals are held at the Lethbridge Public Library.
One thing we're proud of is our "mini-recital" structure - All of our recitals are spaced out and planned to only last about 30-45 minutes, keeping everything low stress, and convenient for you!
Group Make-Up Classes
Life is crazy, and sometimes music lessons (unfortunately) have to take a back seat. Studios of our size have a very difficult time doing private make-up lessons, and most studios don’t offer any type of make-up at all! We understand the importance of your investment, so in order to benefit both the teacher and the student we have implemented group make-up lessons. Every Wednesday and Saturday we hold age, skill level, and instrument specific 1-hour group make-up classes. When you miss a lesson, all you have to do is give us a call and we'll get you in our calendar! This way you still get that precious time to learn to better use your instrument.
Musical Ladder System®
We are the only music school in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta that gives their students the opportunity to earn special colour wristband bracelets (kids and teens love them!), trophies AND certificates for passing musical tests. Do other schools offer trophies and certificates? A few. But none of them inspire their students with smiling faces by giving them full colour, really cool “Musical Ladder®” wristbands that they can show off to their friends. The Musical Ladder® is our unique method of music education that you can only get here.
More importantly when our students have a test coming up, they practice more, their parents are proud, their teachers are proud, and everybody wins. You can only get the Musical Ladder® here. Students who withdraw are removed from the Ladder System, and therefore must restart upon re-enrolment. This program is best suited for those who hope to make music a longterm, and even lifetime activity!
We always appreciate help in establishing the Lethbridge Music Academy community here in Southern Alberta. To show our appreciation, anyone who is referred, and those who refer them, will receive $30 off their next month of lessons (That’s a free lesson!). And the referrer gets an entry into our referral contest pool - We regularly do referral contest draws, and every referral puts your name one more time into the draw, and your name stays there until you’ve won something or withdraw! So don’t feel you’ve missed out when one passes, there will always be another.

Friendly and Reliable Teachers
Here at Lethbridge Music Academy, our vision is to have a place where people can not only learn music, but have fun with it! Our teachers here understand and uphold that vision every single day. We also understand that sometimes two personalities don’t mix. If you or your child are not happy with an instructor, please come to us with your concerns and we will do everything we can to make sure you get the right teacher for you!
Retail & Books
We carry as many books and supplies as we can so that you don’t have to rush around town looking for them. If you’re teacher recommends a book we will most likely have it in stock, and if not, don’t worry, there are lots of avenues to acquire them!
